Hello! I hope someone can help me with this - I'm trying to find a file Glaux.dcu as my Delphi compiler keeps saying that I haven't got it. I've looked everywhere with Google but no luck - it is needed for "DGL Lesson2 Sampel1 für die Win-Api" which is actually in "lesson4_src_api" Can anybody help? Thank you |

Please don't use glaux, there are better ways to load textures. Please download the new DGLSDK which includes newer sourcecode examples for lesson 2,3 and 4. http://wiki.delphigl.com/index.php/DGLSDK#Download |

Or use SDL! Then it's also easier to manage windows and you can concentrate on OpenGL! ![]() |

Hello - thank you very much for your help ![]() I down loaded the file "dglsdk_2005_2.exe" - I not sure what it will install and where. The reason I am concerned is because I already have GLScene installed and I'm not sure if there will be any clashes etc. Will I then be able to follow the tutorials so that I can make a start with Delphi and OpenGL or will I have to use SDL? Thank you again |

That example files of the DGLSDK uses SDL in some way. Just try it and ask if you have Problems with it. GLScene is something else and have nothing to do with our Tutorials or Sourcefiles! |

If you can read the german tutorials, please use the updated ones. You can find them here: http://wiki.delphigl.com/index.php/Tutorial |

Thank you Flo and Flash, I'll take your advice and make a start with DGLSDK and tutorials (my written German isn't great but I can read it fine.) My confusion was down to the fact that I am also reading an old book about OpenGL and it uses gluax as well. Is anyone translating the tutorials into English? I'd be happy to offer my assistance. |

The SDK is installing the header to x:\programs\dglsdk\headers and start to register this path in delphi, so you should be able to use them out of the box. Not sure, if this might collide somehow with the opengl headers from glscene, but I really guess, that it won't. However, you are always can manually remove the sdk path from the delphi search path and everything should be like before. So basically the sdk is just installing and adding a path to delphi. @translation: Currently there is nobody, who is working on this effort. Of course, we would like to see our ressources also avaible for people not speaking german. So if you really want to translate some files, please feal free to write to: Phobeus[at]delphigl.com, i ll answer as soon as possible. |

It's allways funny to see english speaking users like you whant to have a translation of our tutorials or stuff. I mean, if you can read english you can find so damn much tutorials, files, HowTos all over the net. Our tutorials are just a way for those german speaking users who can't read english (that well). (And I think the funny writing stile of the tuts will get lost while translation.) If I was a english speaking user I whould use the forum (of course!) and the files/soures from DGL, but if I look for Tutorials, I think NeHe is the right place. But if you whant to help us...we allways whanted some english translation of our News... ,right Phob!? |
