I took a look at most of the demos (some didn't work) and I must admit that there are really some good entries, in my opinion the average quality of the demos is much better than those in the other contest NeHe already hold. My faves so far are Fountain, Your Fingers So Gently On My Skin and Tranquillity. McClaws Demo is also well done but missing some eye-candy. The beach-demo is also looking gorgeous, but only runs with about 1-2fps on my system (although that should be much better) what totally ruins the experience. The glSlang-Demo would also have interested me, but it only shows a solid red cube without any shaders on it. |

After downloading and testing all demos I've to agree with SOS: the overall quality of the demos is pretty high! I guess that the main reason is, that this time no specific theme had to be met so everybody could participate with his current project. May favs are Night Light, Naskel3D and Tranquility in no particular order! the glSlang shader were pretty cool to look at but mainly just bumpmapping! (@SoS: have a look at the readme and toggle through the shaders and textures. this guy had the wit to make the least interesting shader the default, hoping for the user to read the doc! ) -lith |
